If you're looking for product market fit, your compass should point to one thing.

Pay little attention to users that say "wow, interesting, I could use this", and never use your product.

Pay little attention to people that tell you someone's "eyes are lighting up" about the product, and these people still aren’t using the product.

Excitement is cheap and convenient incentive, get to a yes or no quickly.

Pay little attention to people that say "I would use this, but only if you build this, that, and the other thing too...", when they won’t pay market prices for your product in the first place.

Promises are some of the most expensive things you can make.

Avoid situations where people won’t take the next step with you.

You only need to listen for one thing after someone’s taken that first step:

"More, please!"
