A Tool Making Tool
@anthonycorletti

Steve Jobs saw computers as something special, what he described as a "bicycle for the mind".

Such a fantastic concept. A tool that can take you from point A to B in business or life, create works of art, and communicate with others.

Bike makers need workshops to build bikes.

The workshop is the true tool making tool. It's the space that makers use to make.

We have architectural theories and frameworks to design many kinds of places, for many kinds of purposes. I'm curious how this could apply to building software.

What is the workshop for software? How do people, processes, and technology combine to create software? We already use tools that do this. Where are the functional gaps, what are the negative externalities, and are there ways to improve how people build and ship software together?

Maybe we should redesign and remake the room our code sits in.
